OpenSea now open to acquisition
OpenSea's CEO recently said the platform is open to being acquired by the right partner if it aligns with their mission and values. Ever since Blur has come into picture, the marketplace has struggled t o maintain its position. While there's no word on if someone's going to acquire it, Opensea is evidently struggling to survive on its own. Things only got worse after the 2023 NFT market collapse.
Magic Eden launches a cross chain NFT rewards program
Magic Eden launched a cross-chain NFT rewards program for the Solana community called Diamonds, rewarding early adopters, collectors, creators and other members of the community. A retroactive "Diamond Drop" was held on February 2nd to reward early Solana users. Both Magic Ticket owners and everyday Magic Eden users can benefit from rewards.
Future plans include expanding the program to other chains like Bitcoin, Ethereum and Polygon while still honoring past activity. An upcoming Magic Eden wallet will integrate rewards to allow users to directly earn Diamonds. Ultimately, Magic Eden aims to be community-governed by the Non_FungibleDAO and $NFT token holders.
Tracks, a music streaming app on blockchain, now available on LG Smart TVs
Tracks, the Web3 music streaming app on BNB Chain by LABEL Foundation, is now available on LG Smart TVs worldwide with webOS 22 and 23. As the first Web3 music app on LG platforms, Tracks offers an engaging experience for millennials, boasting 150,000 users and 10,000 daily active users since its July BNB Chain launch.
Known for its user-centric approach and ad-supported streaming, Tracks collaborates with LG to expand global music access, positioning itself as a leading platform in Web3 and Web2 music services. Tracks provides an immersive music experience and is now accessible on the latest LG Smart TV models.
GRIID, a Bitcoin mining firm, debuts on Nasdaq
GRIID, a top Bitcoin mining company, officially began trading on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker symbol 'GRDI' on January 29th. The CEO, Trey Kelly, said in a press release that this Nasdaq listing is a pivotal milestone that will boost visibility, enhance liquidity, and expand the investor base. This aligns with GRIID's commitment to delivering sustained shareholder value in the cryptocurrency industry.
